Here are three shots of the submarine observation post I showed you here; these are why I got up early.  A contribution to Orange you glad it’s Friday #101

Nothing too special about this one, except for the tiny sliver of moon.

A more interesting landscape of the sun peeking over the clouds at sunrise.  I like this one a bunch, but I always save my favorite for last.

This is the shot I planned and it came out *way* better that I originally envisioned.  Thanks to a bit of post-processing color saturation, I was able to get a nice purple hue to the sky.  I think this one is killer.  I’m going to print this one, probably on metal.

Love those! And yes, the last one would be nice on metal. So odd to see the sun rise over the ocean, for a west coaster anyway.

I agree you saved the best for last. Great shots!

  4. I like the moon a lot and the surprise gets better and better! It’s strange for me to see the rising sun on the ocean because it sets on the sea here! 🙂

Very interesting variations on a theme. I agree – the last one was best.

  7. […] While I was at Cape Henlopen State Park, I did a pano. Here is it, 7 images stitched together with a focal length 24mm (more like 38mm on a crop sensor). Click on it to embiggen.  I hope it gives you a sense of the size of the salt marshes. The two vertical columns to the right of center are submarine observation towers from WWI, featured here. […]
