parents revenge

Alex told us last Summer, the only thing he wanted for Christmas was a PlayStation 4. Once it was released, they were impossible to get. I even tried to get one Black Friday and I *never* shop Black Friday.

We told Alex it was very unlikely he was getting a PS4, so we asked him what else he wanted and purchased some of the items on his list.

Lo and behold, I found and purchased a PS4 and Alex knows about it. Since we purchased a lot of gifts, it wouldn’t be fair to give him all of them plus the PS4.

In come Parents Revenge. I got three identical boxes and loaded them with presents and they all weigh within 0.3 pounds of each other (sometimes, I can’t give up the Engineer in me).

On Christmas morning, he gets to pick two of the three boxes to open. What remains unopened he gets on his birthday, which is ~6 weeks after Christmas. Either way, he wins, but he desperately wants the PS4 for Christmas.

So, does he pick 1&2, 2&3, or 1&3? He’s got a 66% chance of getting it.

If he doesn’t open the right box, you’d better be on the lookout for Alex’s revenge, never mind that his birthday is only 6 weeks away!

  4. Oh gosh what a dilemma!
