Corning Museum of Glass has a nice amphitheater for demonstrating glass blowing. While we were there, Helena Welling and Juha Saarikko, from Finland, were creating Oiva Toikka’s bird designs, which was pretty fascinating.

quite an artform!
Not the easiest thing to do, and not the easiest subject to depict – but you did it very well 🙂 Love the last one.
Good series of shots from Corning, I like those of the stacked glass ‘rods’. Also, love the waterfall shots. The slow shutter speed worked well.
That’s a pretty neat place.
now that would be so neat to watch.
A few years back we were on a cruise that a glass blowing exhibit on the top deck. It was pretty amazing to watch. I’d seen glass blowing exhibits before, but on a ship in the middle of the ocean?! They were also connected to the Corning Glass Museum.
What a great place!
I’ve watched the process a couple times before. It truly is an art form. Really nice photos Wayne.
