One recent, very cold evening (ya know, the whole polar vortex thing), I noticed this cool ice formation on the back door.  LED landscape lighting provided the background and I illuminated the frost from the front with an LED flashlight that was very harsh and white.  I added a little top/bottom vignette too.  I think the background came out pretty cool, but I have yet to figure out how that works. Very elegant, both i technique and execution. Maybe you have caught traces of the polishing of the glass?
