raymondskill falls http://2zars.com/photoblog/2013/05/raymondskill-falls/ http://2zars.com/photoblog/2013/05/raymondskill-falls/#comments Fri, 17 May 2013 15:00:53 +0000 Woody http://2zars.com/photoblog/?p=6846 I took a ride on my shiny new ‘chrome pony‘  and visited Raymondskill Falls, the tallest waterfall in PA. It’s ~100 miles (160KM) from my home, which is about a 2 hour drive. This photo is taken from mid-falls, so you’re only seeing half the picture.

I used a 10x Neutral Density filter and f/16 to get an 89 second exposure which makes the water silky.  I particularly like the way the running water fans out into the pool.   Monochrome conversion was performed in Silver EFEX Pro.  I posted the color version below.  I like them both, but I’ll probably print the monochrome.  I’d be delighted to hear your thought in comments.

I bought a portable tripod because it fit in my saddlebag and it wasn’t up to the task.  I should have lashed a real tripod to the back of my bike, which I will do next time.  Because of my shortsightedness, I missed out on some photos, but now have an excuse to return :-)

When I entered the parking lot, this was my view; right up my alley, I don’t like crowds. Stop back tomorrow to see why I visited this particular park (ain’t I a tease?).

One of many fine rigs I saw at Oley.

This bridge is part of the Reading and Northern Railroad in Port Clinton. It carries pedestrians, motor vehicles and trains! It’s just down the road from this sign. I like the color!
