curves and angles

As I mentioned in previous posts, Brighten Place is being demolished and the window frames from the 3rd floor are being salvaged.  I was able to get a close-up of one of the frames, showing the arc of the window and the details of the dentil molding as well as the peeling paint, which I felt was a better fit for monochrome.  This is shot upside down from your normal perspective.  I emulated Ilford pan f plus 50 film, which I think helped the textures pop. My contribution to Good Fences #90 and The Weekend in Black and White December 11, 2015.

Here’s one of the keystone in color (I guess it’s called that).

The windows are temporarily located just inside the construction fence, so I held my camera over the fence and shot straight down, here’s a shot that will give you a better sense of how I took the photo (you can see my pant leg at the bottom center of this photo)

What a special window. The peeling paint shows it has been around a long time. I am so happy to see how the word “dentil” is spelled. I am always looking for the dentils in architecture, and now I know how it is spelled. I always learn something from you,

  4. LOVE the peeling paint as well as the lines, shapes and angles
