Conowingo Dam

The Conowingo Dam is about 2 hours from my house, a bit longer if you wander through Chester County. There a road that crosses the top of the dam that I’ve traveled many times. This trip, I was intent on getting to the ‘low’ side of the dam for a view. There’s a beautiful park, here’s a view from the bank. Lots of people catching big fish. Tons of birds including osprey and a few photographers with BIG lenses.  My contribution to Weekend Reflections #363

I though this photo would be good for funny captions.  (We really hooked the BIG one!)

Those pictures conjured up memories of when we lived at the Bainbridge Naval Base, so many, many years ago.

This seems like a fairly large dam – it must make quite a bit of electrical power. And very nice photos of it, too!

It’s a very large dam and it’s very old. I know they upgraded the generators to 546Megawatts
