another one bites the dust

In abandoned Chalfont, two of the abandoned sites I ‘featured’ were the Lenape Valley Swim Club and the adjacent greenhouses. Several years ago, a developer purchased the land and recently received approval to build 57(!) homes, each on on ~1/5th of an acre, a little to close for my likings.

Some months ago, the swim club and green houses were demolished as were two neglected farm houses. The last remaining building was this stone house.

The following day, the roof and floors had been demolished,; there were just a few walls standing. It was an interesting house with a lot of character, but nothing historic. The following day, it was completely gone.

Another shot, different angle

It’s too bad the old house had to go. It looks like it was a nice one.
