Anyone familiar with British motor vehicles recognizes Amal.  I was working on the Matchless on evening and the light was just right for a photo of the carburetor (you know, the thing that mixes petrol and air).  I converted to monochrome using Silver EFEX Pro and applied a blue filter to boost contrast.  A contribution to The Weekend in Black and White 10-January-2014

  6. Ah. Er. Umm. I thought I was familiar with British engines until now, lol! I never thought I’d say that an engine detail is a fabulous photo but I am!

  7. I checked out your link and your Matchless is a grand looking bike. Incredible how well maintained it is. And this photo has a delightful variety of tones.

I’m not an aficionado about cars…british or otherwise!!! But being the daughter of a mechanic and a fan of black and white…I truly can appreciate this shot!!! Really nice B&W…nice contrast between dark and light…and well composed!!!

Well now…I’m embarrassed!!! All this time I thought you were talking about cars!!!

I’ve been thinking about silver efex for awhile…you prompted me to check it out again and it doesn’t seem to be available anymore!!! I’m so disappointed!!!
