I mentioned in this post that the Mill Road bridge had closed, giving me the ability to walk on it without the fear of getting run over. This post shows a close-up of the vertical supports.
Submitted for Shadow Shot Sunday #149 and Sunday Bridges LIII
captivating photo. the calm, solid bridge, and the wilderness beyond.
Great shadow shot as always, Woody, and I love bridges! Also, the crispness of the shadows say there’s lots of sun and I like that even more!! Hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy!

I can see why you wouldn’t want to share it with a car! That’s one narrow bridge! And the shadow patterns are great!
lovely place for a walk w/o cars!
Excellent, Woody. Sunday Bridges will post at 0001 hours Sunday, central Europe time, thus about 1401 CST Saturday.
Great shadows on the bridge….bridges like that scare our mom – she refuses to go over them
We think that we might be able to handle that one!!
A super shadow shot – but I wouldn’t want to walk over the bridge!
Great shot. This reminds me so of my Sunday Bridges post from about 2 weeks ago…but mine was dilapidated and ended in the middle of the James River here in Virginia. How my husband had nerve enough to go out on that old thing is beyond me. The shadows are wonderful. With mine there were no shadows because it was so overgrown with vines. Thanks for the visit and have a nice weekend.
You’re very geometric lately! I love the criscrossing of the lines in this shot and the circles in the shot below.
The ironwork on the bridge is covered with rust – the well engineered structure is winding down. Happily there is enough strength to allow the photo artist to capture the functional beauty of the crossing that bridges the past to now…
Oooh I love love love this. Pity it seems to lead nowhere.
I love looking through these metal bridges. We have a bunch here in Oregon, but the ones I’ve seen are mainly for highways.
The beauty of ageing industry paired with nature…captivating!
Lovely shadows, I also like the bare trees in to background, makes the colours in the brigde stand out.
Gorgeous!
My shadows, have a great weekend!
Awesome shadows and the old trees and the rust of the bridge work well together. A perfect match!
This is an absolutely awesome…
Love the strong sun that gave you the crispness of your shadows.
Happy SSS…

what a nice photo
WOW! This is really nice. It’s my first time to join and I’m glad I did. Hope you can visit me at Septembercharm.
Love old bridges like that – so much work to create.
Glad you didn’t fall through the floor of this “closed” bridge! Terrific ShadowShot.
It’s nice when something like this allows you access to a place or site you don’t normally have freedom to explore.
