This is a shot of my back yard. I thought the wall and fireplace cast an interesting shadow in the late Winter afternoon sun. This was shot on 13-January.
Submitted for Shadow Shot Sunday #141
This was shot 2 weeks later after a more ‘significant’ storm. No shadows, but you can get an appreciation for the amount of snow we got.
That’s just way too much snow!
IF YOU SEE A SHADOW
If you see a shadow
And want to keep it near,
Point your trusty shooter
(Make sure the lens is clear);
Press with care the shutter,
Do not slam or sock it—
Then you’ll have a photo
To carry in your pocket!

Your back yard is lovely indeed! I can picture a grill smoking away, the beer cold and the conversation lively. Except this scenario works best on a warm summer day. The curvature of brick is unique and stylish, a fun place to relax with the expansive views…
Beautiful shadow shots! I can’t wait till summer again.
My Shadow Shots, have a great weekend!
Oh, WOW! That’s a lot of snow, Woody! Great shadow shots, but I’m sure you’re ready for less snow and more sun!! I know I would be! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Uh huh, that’s a lot of snow. I like your back yard!
Great picture and looks like you have a fun backyard!
Throw some wood on that grill! Looks like you need some warmth. Great shadows, I reall like the one of the trampoline netting.
Oh, my goodness! glad you included the second shot. Love the first with the UFO shaped snow cap, and the enticing curve of the wall.
Thanks all for visiting and commenting! I completely forgot I had photographed the construction of this patio, photos are here:

You have a big backyard…and a lot of snow!
Sure glad I don’t live where it snows…that looks way too cold for me. But the sunlight and shadows are super.

Hope you’re having a super Sunday!!
Oh my, yes! I can imagine how peaceful it is sitting out around the fire…..roasting, drinking, talking, and laughing.
I LOVE you back yard. LOVE it!
