My oldest son plays in an indoor Winter lacrosse league. From a photographic perspective, the lighting is the most challenging I have encountered and I assume this is to avoid blinding the players as they pass the ball. On the plus side, I now fully understand how to configure manual exposure in my camera.
This is a shot of one of one of the ‘attack’ players. ‘Attack’ must stay on the opposing teams side of the field and are not allowed to cross the center line. At this particular time, the other team had the ball, so the attack players and the opposing team’s ‘long pole’ players must watch.
I like the graininess, but I didn’t expect this much grain at ISO 400.

Sometimes the noise I get baffles me too. I didn’t know there was indoor lacrosse. Learned something new!
I imagine this is zoomed in too. It’s just so perfect, I wish I had a REAL camera.
nice capture! looks like you handled the lighting just fine
Very good! When the lighting is crappy and varied (as it usually is for dance shows and swim meets), I usually use Aperture Priority. I’ll set the aperture as wide as it can go on the lens, and let the camera figure out the rest. That’s way I’m not constantly having to change shutter speeds by hand. Fast glass does help, as do full-frame DSLR’s. Merry Christmas!
I think it looks fantastic as is!
Well done and yeah… must have been overcast…
I really like the composition!
A finely composed photo. I love the concentrated waiting pose.
Have a great Christmas.
Love how the netting becomes such an interesting focus!
Enjoy your Christmas!
Awesome shot
Interesting composition, love the way you just show selected parts of the player, I can really feel his anticipation!
happy holidays!
