macy’s part i
My wife and I took the train to Philadelphia and wandered around. One of our stops was Macy’s where they have a nice light/sound show every hour. This store was originally a Wanamaker’s and it thought to be one of the original department stores in America, so it is very grand.
Behind the tree and lights are the pipes from the are the pipes for the Wanamaker Organ (this Macy’s was originally a Wanamaker’s until Macy’s bought them). The sound is awesome.

Very pretty. I heard there was a flash mob there in Oct singing the Hallelujah chorus. That would have been so cool if you happened on something like that!

I have never been to Macy’s … but I’ve heard they pull out all the stops for Christmas. What a wonderful experience – now that I’ve seen your pictures, I may have to think about going. Someday.
It would be worth going to Philly to listen to that organ.
