government of the people

This statue is titled ‘Government of the people’ by Jacques Lipchitz, 1892 – 1975.  It stands in the Municipal Plaza opposite City Hall, Philadelphia.

Look closely for ‘interesting’ body parts!  Submitted for Midweek Blues.

Interesting in a gruesome sort of way. Also interesting that I never noticed it when down that way.

It’s how I feel most mornings, Wayne. Neat sculpture. I think there are similar ones in Norway or Sweden. Way ahead of it’s time.
