This statue is titled ‘Government of the people’ by Jacques Lipchitz, 1892 – 1975. It stands in the Municipal Plaza opposite City Hall, Philadelphia.
Look closely for ‘interesting’ body parts! Submitted for Midweek Blues.

Interesting in a gruesome sort of way. Also interesting that I never noticed it when down that way.
oh
«Louis» thought the title was “The Incestuous Relationship Between Congress and Lobbyists”…
Very eye-catching. I’ll have to look for it the next time we visit Philly.
what an interesting sculpture! it’s kinda grotesque.:p
A bit confusing, don’t you think?
P.S.: I hadn’t even noticed that it was number 13… no, not supersticious!
A great example of “balance” (because it’s top heavy!) in sculpture!
The sculpture is quite a tangle!
Um I think everybody else has kind of said what I’m thinking! Very interesting in a gruesome kind of way … I’m actually not sure whether I like it or not!
Some things one is just not surprised to see in Philly.
There’s no faces/heads, does that say something (or not ! Interesting take on the theme.
It’s how I feel most mornings, Wayne. Neat sculpture. I think there are similar ones in Norway or Sweden. Way ahead of it’s time.
