brick shadows

A shot of the Roberts Block building in Glenside, PA, which is adjacent to the Glenside Train Station .  There’s some interesting brickwork on this old building and I like the shadow cast by the late fall sun.   More shots to come soon!

  1. Outstanding, Woody! «Louis» really likes geometrical shots like this – and his normal subject matter only rarely affords an opportunity to get a shot like this.

  2. Nice definition with the cable shadow as well.

The bricks can al be monolithic in style. That’s why a shadow that falls upon it all adds a nice character in the wedge shape. And the lesser shadow of the wire or cable adds a nice touch as well. A pity that the Main Line commuters will not notice any shadows in all probability…

  4. Terrific capture, Woody, love the sharp geometrical shadows and the texture of the bricks! Have a great weekend!

Very nice! I just love shadows against bricks. Bricks make such lovely backgrounds for shadowy art. Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Nice color in those bricks and line created by the shadow.

  8. Beautiful shot. Love how the cable’s shadow looks almost broken on the bricks. Thanks for sharing!!
