sidewalk shadows

Here’s a shot of one of the old sidewalks in New Castle.  You can see disruption from the roots, which makes for interesting walking.  Submitted for Shadow Shot Sunday #123

  1. What a terrific shadow shot, Woody! And what a lovely old street and sidewalk! The bricks being uplifted by the roots is really interesting! Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

I actually like sidewalks like this one. I’m used to being on trails in the woods. When I wind up jogging in town, these are much easier on my feet, and it’s not all flat and even.

  3. These are very inviting shadows, Woody. I want to be there. :)

I think walking on that sidewalk would be interesting in itself! It’s quite charming, but I’d be wreck on it with my camera!

I’m wondering if the disruption extends to beneath the buildings? Could be a little shakey for those residents! Great photo!

The robustness of the roots is remarkable and I think I would be worried if I lived nearby, as it seems that the roots could be crawling under the walls…
    God bless you!

I really really love that brick sidewalk all wavy from the tree roots. It’s got so much character!

that’s a pretty gnarly sidewalk! But I like it, lots of character. but i guess you gotta look where you’re putting your next step. Cool shot!
