I recently visited Historical New Castle, Delaware. This is a shot facing North on The Strand, which is the most prestigious address in New Castle. Every one of these houses have historical significance.
All the streets in New Castle have these quaint street signs. The sidewalks are all brick and twist and turn due to the tree roots. Charm oozes from every pore of the buildings.
Note the cobblestones under the cars. Only the center section is paved.
I was born and lived in New Castle until I was 18, then moved to Philadelphia to go to college. I didn’t live in the historical city of New castle, but I visited there weekly as our family church was located there.
Growing up, we never visited the historical buildings or sites. We referred to the city as ‘hysterical’ New Castle, but you know how kids can be.
I thought this would be a nice submission for Shadow Shot Sunday #121

The Strand, New Castle, DE
There is something classic about this townhouse style that exists from Philadelphia to Baltimore (including beautiful row houses in lancaster PA). No surprise this street is in Delaware, the region seems full of these charming townhouses. And this street looks so nice as it is bathed in shadows…
what apeaceful shady street – the shadows create the tranquility…
That’s a shadow shot with feeling…
I just love the old brick homes and this ShadowShot is soooo inviting. I want to stroll about with an ice cream cone, or maybe pushing a child in a pram. :0)
Gorgeous alley!
Shadow Shot at my page.
This is so interesting, thank you for adding the history of New Castle. I would love to wander through these streets. Great shadow shot.
That lloks like such a net street to explore!
Looks like a nice alley to walk around.
Hanover Park shadows.
What a beautiful street, and the street sign is very quaint, goes with the history of the houses.
Beautiful! It looks like such a charming location!
Shadows everywhere you look but hey, I just love the feel of the place.
