There are many, many old bridges in Bucks County. This is Gayman Road Bridge, built in 1887 by the Pittsburgh Bridge Co. This type of construction is called a “Pratt pony truss“. I thought this would make for an interesting Weekend Reflections, Shadow Shot Sunday #116, and Sunday Bridges.

Interesting choice of colors for the bridge, pink and green. The photo is a nice study in lines.
Dear Wayne, your picture is beautiful.I like the focus in the second plan and your idea in this composition, I mean about the angle and reflections. That tree is amazing, almost inside the lake! wow
The bridge is also very interesting!I’m always learning with your posts, thanks so much!
well done,

Hi there
Your bridge certainly is very photogenic along with your lovely reflection.
This is almost like abstracts and dimensions – an artwork by humanity and Nature. A fascinating photo!
Very nice. I love finding interesting bridges. Ihaven’t come across this one yet but thanks to this post I’m sure I will . : ) Today I took some pictures of the Lumberville-Raven Rock Bridge on River rd.
Oh I like that angle!
I like it Woody but I’m not so sure about the out of focus structural element on the left. Ya gotta takes risks though.
Wow, Woody! You are first up with Sunday Bridges!
As was the case last week, let’s be sure to link it when Linky opens at 0001 hrs central Europe time Sunday morning.
Neat photo of this historic bridge!
Makes for an interesting DoF too, Wayne. For me, though, the most interesting comparison is between the straight edge of the strutts and the ‘lacey’ edge of the roots of the tree as it enters the water. Now to click over to Sunday Bridges and see if that is a tempting meme.
Love taking a look at your images. Love that shot of the endless yellow flowers. Cool!
Great shot!
Best regards from Argentina

I just love your shots : they are always so original… On this one I’m very fond of the blury effect that is so contrasted with the reflection so neat… Fantastic work, thanks for the sharing !
I like old bridges, and this seems to be an early example of steel (not iron) construction. Stronger than wood, if maintained, it will outlast wood as well. Nice!
Sweet shot, Woody!
This is a really interesting take! I like it! Old bridges make such great subject matter for photographers. Have yourself a great week!
very interesting photo. now i’m curious to see thewhole bridge.:p
Lovely angle! Great shot for Sunday bridges
Beautiful reflections. Love your shot!
Have a great week!
«Louis» thanks you for linking it to Sunday Bridges, Woody.
