telluride

As I mentioned earlier, my Nephew and his fiancée were married in Telluride, Colorado on July 11. Here are a few photos from Telluride. I’ll post some photos of the wedding separately. I’ve been remiss at posting and visiting; between vacation and scheduling college visits with my son, I’ve been pretty busy.

Lots of photos in this post, sorry.

Bridal Veil Falls is a 365 foot tall water fall outside of Telluride.  I showed you a picture here.  The waiter at the hotel informed me that you can easily drive to the top in an SUV.  I had rented an SUV, so I accepted the challenge.  It was an interesting drive up the mountain; the switchbacks were a challenge and there were some steep cliffs if you drove off the trail.

This is the jeep trail, you can see the water fall in the background.

Three shots of the falls, this one has some simple tweaks in lightroom

Same shot of the falls processed in HDR EFEX Pro (my favorite, the texture in the rocks is magnificent)

A view down the valley from higher up on the trail.  You can see the jeep trail traversing the hill on the right side.  The air was bit thin up there, I think it was over 10,000′ (3,000 meters)

Back down on earth, some collection ponds from the mining company.  Yes, the water was that funky color.
